Dentures

Losing a tooth can be highly disadvantageous, both in terms of facial aesthetics as well as the functionality of the mouth. It can induce pains in the jaws, TMJ, neck and also lead to the drifting of the teeth. If losing just one tooth can cause so much trouble, imagine losing a lot more teeth to issues such as cavities, external trauma or oral infections!

At Valley Dental, Cupertino, we get many patients who have lost several teeth and wish to get them replaced by prosthetic ones. Dr. Browning has been serving patients from the Bay Area for over a decade now and knows how best to treat each individual patient. She would help you get the best dentures that would not only offer the perfect fit but also let you carry out everyday activities such as biting, chewing and talking, without hassle.

What are dentures?

Dentures are prosthetics that are used to replace a large number of missing teeth. They are composed of ceramic teeth that are held together on an acrylic base, thereby forming the perfect dental setup to mimic the teeth and the gums. They are removable, meaning, you can wear them for the most part of the day and when you need to take them off, such as while oral cleaning or sleeping, you can do so and put them back on.

How can you get your custom dentures?

When you visit our practice for the initial consultation, we would screen your mouth thoroughly and check for factors such as jawbone health, remaining teeth, gum health, etc. Scans, photographs, and x-rays will be taken to determine the size, color, and contour of the dentures. The data will be taken to a dental laboratory where the dentures will be fabricated. During the next consultation, we will place the dentures in the mouth and check for perfect fit and comfort. If any changes are required, the required alterations will be made.

Why should you choose dentures?

  • Since dentures are made from tooth-colored ceramic and gum-colored acrylic material, they’ll hardly be noticeable. When you smile and talk like to normally do, nobody would have the faintest clue that your teeth are prosthetics.
  • The dentures can be cleaned just like brushing the teeth. Just take them off, brush them using a soft-bristle toothbrush and toothpaste, and put them back on. If you need to keep them away for the night, just leave them soaking in clean water.
  • Dentures replace a large number of natural teeth, which is how they help to restore the facial appearance by making the cheeks and chin look fuller.
  • Biting and chewing food can be done without hassle. In fact, the dentures completely restore the functionality of your natural teeth.
